Methuen & Co, London - 1926. True UK First Edition / First Printing. Very Nice Condition / Highly Collectable. Published in 1926 this children's classic is in beautiful condition for it's age certainly up there with the higher grade examples. The stories and characters are still much loved the world over today and this book is the one of the most charming children's stories ever written. A delight for the collector and worthy of any shelf. Book Info : Winnie The Pooh, Methuen, London 1926: First Edition / First Printing. The book is bound in the original green cloth covers with nice bright gilt titles and decorations.

This book presents beautifully as a near fine example showing minimal signs of age or wear. The gilt is very bright and the binding is firm and square. No surface marks or scratches with just the minutest of bumps to the odd corner. The green colour is unfaded so still appears as it would have when published. Internally the book is again virtually fine bearing NO inscriptions, names or graffiti.

Original beige mapped endpapers as called for changed to green for all later prints. From start to finish all pages are bright and clean with all margins and hinges nice and tight. Probably read a few times at most. The book correctly shows one date of 1926 to the verso of the title page again showing this to be the true First Edition / First Printing. Beautifully illustrated throughout by E H Shepard. Easily one of the best i've handled, seldom seen in this condition. For the purist collectors out there it's a book fit for any shelf.
