The spine, as with most of these editions, is faded. The pages are generally clean and the binding is tight. The end papers are tanned (please see picture above).
The top of the pages are gilt. There are a few spots of foxing/odd small mark to the page edges and the occasional small mark to a few pages. There are no inscriptions, which makes this copy quite rare, as most are inscribed. It is illustrated beautifully throughout by Ernest H. Overall it is in very good condition and highly collectable.
