Printed by Methuen in Great Britain and published in 1926. This is a genuine 1st edition, 1st printing, with only one date "First Published in 1926" appearing in the book. There were 5,500 first editions, first printings of this book, with 3,500 still known to be in existence today. The book is fairly good condition, esp. For such a rare classic children's book that is nearly 100 years old!
Beautiful illustrations of Winnie the Pooh, Christopher Robin and friends by Ernest H. The spine is tight on the book, with a slight lean. There are no missing or loose pages.PLEASE NOTE: Pages 23 - 34 have part of the pages torn out of them, mostly at the top (as pictured). These is the only detraction in this book. The maps of "Hundred Acre Woods" in the front and back of the book look excellent (as pictured). There are no inscriptions nor writing anywhere in the book. There are no marks in the book at all. The gold gilt is still evident on the pages at the top of the book, with gilt vignettes of the characters on the front cover. I'll also include a Winnie the Pooh, 1st edition, 1st printing repro.
This book will only increase in value in the run up to the 100th anniversary of Winnie the Pooh in 2026. THIS RARE BOOK WILL BE A BEAUTIFUL SURPRISE FOR SOMEONE TRULY SPECIAL.
