3 Winnie the Pooh Books 1st/1st Deluxe Editions 1926 1928 A A Milne House Corner

  

The other two titles are The House at Pooh Corner and Now We Are Six from 1928 and 1927, and these are both First Printings as well which were printed at the same time as the trade editions but are much more ornate. These are also the UK editions printed in London by Methuen.

Since these are the deluxe first editions they are done in leatherette (not leather) with gilt edges and beautiful gilt decorations down the spine. Usually these books are cracking and falling apart due to the aging leatherette but as you can see these appear in good and very good condition. Some specifics below but mainly any issues are on the spine so I have included some close-up photos. Internally all three are sound and clean.

House at Pooh Corner is in very good condition with darkened red to the covers/spine and some minor wear. Previous owner's signature on half-title page. Now We Are Six is in very good condition as well and the red leatherette is bright on the front and back but fading along the spine.

Also has the same owner's signature inside. When We Were Very Young, only good condition since the spine has some wrinkling and fading but also with bright front and back red covers. There is also some foxing or staining to the decorative end-pages as can be seen in the photo, and previous owner's signature. Altogether this is a beautiful collection and rarely do I see the deluxe editions that display this nicely.
